Two hippos on one keyboard, more on gamepads, one raft, one screen. Toot Together is a free local co-op party game that runs in your browser: plug the laptop into the TV and pass the snacks.

In the couch lobby each player presses their toot key (or A on a gamepad) to join, up to 4 hippos. Any mix works: one keyboard and two pads, four pads, or just the two of you on the keyboard. Each hippo owns its own slice of the raft's rim, so nobody can hog the good side.
One tip for laptops
Many laptop keyboards drop keys when several are held at once, and two people tooting while walking is a lot of keys. If a hippo stops responding, plug in a gamepad for player 2, or an external keyboard.
The rules fit on a napkin
Move your hippo
Hold A/D to walk around the rim, W/S to hop to the front or back, or point the stick where you want to stand. In a crew, each hippo owns its own coloured slice of the rim. Its butt points outward, so a toot pushes the raft the opposite way.
Toot to move
Hold Space / A / RT to toot. Every hippo's toot pushes the same raft, so one wrong toot ruins it for everyone.
Burst
Tap Shift / X for a big emergency blast. Costs a chunk of gas.
Gas tank
Tooting drains your gas. Run dry and you'll wheeze until it refills — stop for a sec to recharge.

Start on Lazy River. Every river you finish unlocks the next, all the way to the kraken.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Toot Together is free to play, with no ads, no accounts and nothing to download. It is open source under the MIT licence.
Can two people play on one keyboard?
Yes. Player 1 uses WASD and Space, player 2 the arrow keys and Enter. Gamepads join with A, up to four hippos in all.
Which gamepads work?
Any controller your browser recognises, such as Xbox, PlayStation or Switch Pro controllers plugged in or paired over Bluetooth. Press A (or the bottom face button) in the couch lobby to join.
Can I play couch co-op on a TV?
Yes. Plug the laptop into the TV, or open the game in a browser on a computer that is already connected to it, and sit everyone on the couch.
