Open a link, turn the phone sideways, and you're on a raft with your friends. Toot Together runs in the phone's browser: nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, and friends on laptops can join the same room.

Hold TOOT on the right to push the raft. Tap BURST for an emergency blast.
Getting your friends in
Press Create room, pick a river and share the invite link in your group chat. Each friend opens it on their own phone, up to 4 on a raft, or up to 16 in a race. The room code is six letters if someone would rather type it.
Opened the link inside Instagram or another app? Open it in Chrome or Safari instead: some apps' built-in browsers won't turn sideways.
Runs on older phones too
It's a 3D game, but if your phone gets warm or choppy, open Settings and set Graphics to Fast. You can also add it to your home screen so it opens full screen, like an app.
Why it's fun on a phone
Move your hippo
Hold A/D to walk around the rim, W/S to hop to the front or back, or point the stick where you want to stand. In a crew, each hippo owns its own coloured slice of the rim. Its butt points outward, so a toot pushes the raft the opposite way.
Toot to move
Hold Space / A / RT to toot. Every hippo's toot pushes the same raft, so one wrong toot ruins it for everyone.
Burst
Tap Shift / X for a big emergency blast. Costs a chunk of gas.

Is it really free?
Yes. Toot Together is free to play, with no ads, no accounts and nothing to download. It is open source under the MIT licence.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge on Android and iPhone. You can add it to your home screen if you want it to open like an app.
Does it work on Android and iPhone?
Yes, on both, in any recent browser. Hold the phone sideways: drag on the left to move, hold TOOT on the right.
Can my friends on laptops play with me?
Yes. Phones, tablets and laptops all join the same room with the same link or room code.
